  • Tulsi is considered effective in boosting the immune system as the leaves contain phytochemicals, bioflavonoids, and antioxidants such as rosmarinic acid, oleanolic acid, and ursolic acid, eugenol, and beta-caryophyllene. This makes it very effective in treating coughs, sore throat, and chest inflammation. Due to its broad-spectrum antimicrobial activities tulsi can be used as a hand sanitizer, mouth wash, and water purifier. When had as a tea it combats respiratory ailments, colds, congestions, flu, lowers blood pressure, reduces stress, treats gastrointestinal disorders, relieves arthritis, and regulates blood sugar.
